Film bug again

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

A sudden urge of the film bug, that i decided to start developing some film again. Developed 8 rolls from my current accumulating pile of film. I Haven’t touched the fixer since august last year, but it seemed to still smell so I guess it was still ok. Always great to see things that you don’t remember taking. A dump of a few here, but more to come.

Coming of Age day 2010

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

When kids stop calling you “oniichan (older brother)” and start calling you “ojisan (uncle)” then you know you’ve come of age. A lot of happy (and frowning) faces on this Seijin shiki day. . One mixed with lots of kimonos, police with cameras and a storm trooper.

2010 direction

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

For almost all of 2009 I’ve stuck with a 28mm focal length.
My pointer to anyone is to stick to one focal length for a set period of time and you really start to see/feel/think and learn more about making pictures.

The direction in 2010? I think i’ll start trying a new focal length soon.

All this finger pointing? Not really something i go out thinking to photograph. Only that it is something that i see when I have my camera out.

summer past

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Its been a busy past few weeks and I haven’t really touched the film camera during this time. Whilst im still having a lot of fun with the GRD3 and shooting digital like a madman, looking back at these couple of rolls from summer, I think it is now time to bring the leica out to play again.

A mix of 3200 and 1600 films on the streets of kagurazaka during the awaodori.
