balloons
Thursday, April 16th, 2009These are just a few from an all night art festival in roppongi a few weeks back. The balloons were part of a parade around roppongi. Interesting and easy to approach people for photographs when everyone is in a happy party like mood.

Hanami
Tuesday, April 7th, 2009The first weekend that the sakura were in bloom, drew masses of people to ueno. I shot a few rolls that day, and decided to give the 21mm GR lens a go on one of the rolls with some portra which I pushed 1 stop. Developed this with the naniwa kit, but i think i’m getting inconsistent colour mainly from the scanner. When i do get around to getting a better one, i’ll rescan these to get a more accuracy in colour. More to come, when i get around to developing / scanning them.

Friday, March 13th, 2009I’ve done 3 rolls so far with the Naniwa kit. This one is from the 3rd roll – Centura 400. About the 3rd of the price of portra, and it doesnt have its tones, but nevertheless still nice. Pushed it one stop to 800.

Natura and Naniwa
Sunday, March 8th, 2009Had the urge to shoot some colour recently, and I learned from a recent new friend that developing colour it wasn’t as hard as seemed. So i decided to try for myself with a naniwa color kit n. Whilst the process is a lot shorter than black and white film, it has to be at higher temperatures, which was proving a little more difficult for me to keep constant.
There are a few streaks on a few of them, not too sure why, maybe not enough agitation or fixing. These are few from one roll of Natura 1600.
After a couple of months in only black and white, shooting colour was such a joy. I didn’t have to think or imagine things only in only light and darks. I definately prefer night in colour. Looking forward to the weather getting warmer, so at night I can at least feel my fingers and the leica doesnt feel like an iceblock.
