Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
It was a first time for me to bring a camera out and shoot on the “coming of age” public holiday. (and a good chance to use the leica :) ) I went to see if anything was interesting at meiji jingu, which turned out to be an eye opener for me. I was so suprised at how many people had cameras. All sizes, but there were a numerous amount of people with huge zooms on their dslrs. A lot were standing from a distance ’sniping’ away at the 20 year olds. Whilst in shibuya, they had closed off the main streets and had circus-like performances throughout the day.

old pics
Wednesday, January 14th, 2009After taking up photography a few years back, any old photograph that I might have seen before doesn’t look the same anymore. I stumbled upon the archive for the State library of NSW, and whilst i’ve seen many of these on tv programs and old history books, I think it makes an interesting series on its own.

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009On the 2nd of January every year, one section of the imperial palace is open to the public for the emperor to make his new year greeting. This was the 2nd time i’ve attended this event. More information on this event here.
