The yearly sculpture by the sea..

Something dormant has suddently taken off and ignited the urge to pick up the camera and start photographing again. More to come in 2011. I’ve been watching a lot of Grand Design recently and looking at a lot of architecture. Most possibly it is this influence plus the love of lines and details that has kicked started 2011. Though i shot these a few months back, i recently rediscovered it and saw it in a different light. That reminds me i have a few more rolls of film to develop and look forward to seeing what i shot.

Up at the hunter valley.

I’m pretty sure my rolleiflex is from the 60s so though it was out of the era from which this annual fair is based upon, i think it fitted quite well in with the theme and crowd on this day. I only shot one roll of colour this day, and was mainly there to look at rose seidler house, since it had been high school since i last saw this timeless place. Not really a day to take pictures of the house because it was way too crowded.

Characters, and they just seem to be on red most of the time.

Enjoyed a 2 week trip to china. Visited shanghai, xian and nanjing. It was the first time to step foot in mainland. I spend most time in Shanghai out of the 3 cities, and to me, shanghai is much like tokyo as a city, but without the orderliness. So in terms of the photographic scene i liked to look for in tokyo, it seemed to be more evident in shanghai. Some sort of interesting randomness just seemed to be around every corner.
Here are some from the trip the digital stuff. Have a lot more to sort through, but also have developed most the film shot from this trip, and will post it in a separate post.
