January 22nd, 20101970s Camera Ads
January 18th, 2010Visited this nice place tegamisha, out in the west side of town. Koga-san the bookseller kindly showed us a few 70s Camera Mainichi magazines. For some reason, the camera ads left a lasting impression.

Coming of Age day 2010
January 17th, 2010When kids stop calling you “oniichan (older brother)” and start calling you “ojisan (uncle)” then you know you’ve come of age. A lot of happy (and frowning) faces on this Seijin shiki day. . One mixed with lots of kimonos, police with cameras and a storm trooper.

2010 direction
January 13th, 2010For almost all of 2009 I’ve stuck with a 28mm focal length.
My pointer to anyone is to stick to one focal length for a set period of time and you really start to see/feel/think and learn more about making pictures.
The direction in 2010? I think i’ll start trying a new focal length soon.
All this finger pointing? Not really something i go out thinking to photograph. Only that it is something that i see when I have my camera out.
End of Year Rush
January 2nd, 2010Happy New Year!!!
The 2009 end of year rush in Ameyokocho. The latter half of the year in 2009 felt like it ended in a rush.
Welcoming the new year and a looking forward to all the things ahead.
